Kasia Orzechowska

My name is Kasia and I am Polish-Canadian and currently living in Austria. Running has been an integral part of my life since I started running with my father at the age of 8. I did athletics as a teenager and ran my first marathon on my 21st birthday, but in 2019 I discovered ultrarunning.

11 months after having my son, I ran the @beyondtheultimate Desert Ultra. Tailwind was with me for that first win in the Namib Desert and has been my choice ever since with podium finishes at races like @mozart100, @nicecotedazurbyutmb and @sciacchetrail.

Running not only brings joy to my daily life, but has also helped me cope with difficult times, such as the loss of my mother at a young age, the sudden death of my father, depression, getting used to motherhood and restarting my medical career in a new country and language. I love running my local trails and exploring new routes on vacation. This year I am focusing on training for UTMB’s CCC.

Tailwind has never let me down and will no doubt accompany me on every adventure.
