Recovery Mix has been reformulated: 20g of protein and a new flavour
0 Comments
Recovery Mix has a new formula. It has twice as much protein, the bags are bigger and Strawberry joins the line-up. Coffee is saying goodbye.
What’s changing
The old Recovery Mix had 10g of protein per serving, from rice protein. The new one has 20g, from rice and fava protein. The two complement each other: together they provide all nine essential amino acids. On top of that, each serving has 5g of added BCAAs: 2g of leucine and 1.5g each of valine and isoleucine.
The carbohydrates come from dextrose and cane sugar, 34g per serving, with no sweeteners. It also contains sodium, potassium and calcium. Recovery Mix is still vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free.
The new mix dissolves more smoothly and is creamier than the old one. Chocolate, Vanilla and Salted Caramel stay, and Strawberry is new, replacing Coffee.
Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and to the maintenance of muscle mass.
Bigger bag, new price
A bag now holds 20 servings instead of 15.
- Stick: €3.35
- Bag with 20 servings: €55
Per serving you pay more than for the old version. That’s down to the higher protein content and the more expensive ingredients it takes. Per gram of protein, though, you’re better off: in the old bag, 10g of protein cost €2.40; in the new one, 20g costs €2.75. And a serving from the bag is a lot cheaper than a single stick.
What’s available now
The new Recovery Mix is arriving in stages, because Tailwind doesn’t yet have EU-packaged stock of every flavour. Available now:
- Strawberry: sticks and bags
- Vanilla: sticks and bags
- Chocolate: sticks
We expect Chocolate bags and Salted Caramel around March. Until then, the starter packs with Recovery Mix are unavailable.
The old formula: last stock
We still have a last batch of the old Recovery Mix, best before January/February 2027. It’s now 40% off, while stocks last. If you want Coffee one last time, this is your chance.
How to use it
Add one stick or 3 level scoops (60g) to 500ml of water and shake. Drink it within 30 to 60 minutes after training. After a long or hard session, you can have a second serving within the hour.
Recovery Mix is made for the days you’ve gone deep, like after a long run or when you’re training several days in a row.
